Cat Genie Self-Flushing Litter Box Review (We Tested it for 3 Weeks)

The Cat Genie is one-of-a-kind. It’s a self-cleaning litter box that doesn’t just scoop—it washes and flushes your litter. Sounds like it could grant your litter box wishes? With such mixed reviews out there, we wanted to get some first-paw experience with the Cat Genie. Over the last several weeks, we’ve been trying out the Cat Genie, taking notes on its performance in all of the most important areas, like odor control, tracking and scatter, and cat satisfaction. NOTE: Petnovations Ltd., the company behind Cat Genie, contacted us and requested that we clarify the following details:

1. It is not recommended that you use an extension cord with the Cat Genie. The Cat Genie user manual discourages this practice due to fire hazard.
2. While it is normal to see some waste lingering in the toilet after one use, your toilet will self-level, eventually resulting in a full flush. The toilet bowl should be 98% clean after three uses.
3. In Cat Activation mode, there should not be any risk of your cat stepping in their own urine.
4. According to the company’s sales data, users typically purchase no more than 2-3 boxes of litter and 5.8 SaniSolution cartridges each year.
